After a worldwide tour of more than a hundred shows, Hania is performing the final Ghosts shows this spring - specially arranged for a large ensemble - at Palau de la Música Catalana, Barcelona (May 21) and Coliseu dos Recreios, Lisbon (May 22). She presents her “other” self, Chilling Bambino, at the ICA in London (April 22) and then as part of Cercle Odyssey in Mexico (April 26). On April 8, Hania announced the world premiere of Non Fiction – a piano concerto in four movements - at the Barbican (November 25 and 26). Her first piano concerto and symphonic piece, Non Fiction was composed partially in response to the discovery in 2020 of the compositions of a young music prodigy, Josima Feldschuh, written during the horrors of World War II in the Warsaw Ghetto. Moved by the girl's story she choose to examine it through the lens of modern horrors: the invasion of Ukraine and genocide in Gaza, and how closely we can 'observe' and 'hear' them through modern media. In doing this Rani investigates the constant coexistence of harmony and disorder creating a sonic metaphor for the survival of the human spirit when faced by the violence and uses the emotional value of sound to make these somehow distant conflicts more relatable to us on a human level. Rani is joined by the Manchester Collective assembled as a 45-piece orchestra, led by violinist Rakhi Singh and conducted by Hugh Brunt (London Contemporary Orchestra) together with special guests Jack Wyllie (saxophone) and Valentina Magaletti (drums).
